The ascent of Mt. Carmel continues to test
my resolve as I plumb my inward depths
and quarry out the broken fortress rocks
that block my recessed home within.
Ageless walls of longing line the precipitous
pathway of my climb as I struggle past
the tree line of all my earthly needs, and breathe
once more the pure air of undoubted trust.
