Sisyphus Betrayed
I fear the monster
that dwells within
each angelic human form.
The same hand
that harmony bestows
can hatred’s arrows also send
I fear the monster
that hides within
nature’s bone and human skin.
The same voice
that justice-mercy lauds
can love’s epiphany also rend.
