The Negative Way

                                 Grieving for the Lost

“By the rivers of Babylon, we sat and wept as we remembered Zion

and we hung our harps on the willows.”                      – Psalm 137

The new man of the techno-industrial complex has brought humanity

as well as every other creature on planet earth to a point of no return.

They have managed to pollute, within this one moment of evolutionary

time, the pristine environment that all life depends on to survive.

We weep remembering the breathable air, the pure waters, and the

sacred soil of our legendary past, even as we continue to isolate ourselves

further away from the life-sustaining principles of the natural order, and

mindlessly watch with indifference as death follows in our footsteps.

We hang our harps on the willows of our grief and remember the words

of a prophet, “I put before you life and death – choose life.”  But we

have perversely chosen death, while all around us at this tragic moment

mother nature grieves for her beautiful life forms that are no more.
